i find myself wondering how you’re doing
and if i’m allowed to be wondering how you’re doing
and if i can reach out, maybe
call and ask?
but you chased me away about 5 times
and after a while,
i start to realize that i’ve been successfully pushed
because the other day i thought of you
and kind of smiled
and my mind went somewhere else
without feeling a pang like every other time
not a wisp of you remains
and isn’t that kind of sad?
but the human body (mind) heals that way.
