like salt

ocean spray, staying in your hair for days
metallic tang after biting your lip
shine on your hand after one too many shots of tequila
sweat on your brow, forgotten in your exhaustion/determination
rivulet that forms under your eye,
stinging your pores and leaving that tightness behind
yet cleansing.
