For the longest time [or so it feels] I’ve been cooped up,
afraid to leave my little space
and room
lest something uncomfortable or unfamiliar occurs.
What a contrast to the person I used to be!
Not even a year ago, I would jump
at any excuse
to go outside,
to meet new people,
experience both old and new happenings with enthusiasm
and excitement.
I believe I’m back there now – in a place where
socializing rejuvenates me and brightens my eyes,
makes me quick to smile [as I used to be] and
perhaps
I am once again becoming the person that drew those eyes,
who made friends laugh with quick wit,
who brought up heavy spirits with positive energy.
